First, it must fit within your budget!

So, let’s be practical.

First!

38-45% of your total wedding budget is for your venue.

Don’t visit a venue that is not within these limits.

Second:

Decide if you prefer an

outdoor – waterfront, beach,

mountains, lawn, or garden ceremony

or

Indoor – (fewer weather contingencies)- fireplace, large window,

a historic mansion, or a place you frequent.

Third:

Contact your contenders to see if your desired date is available,

and schedule an appointment to visit each of your top three locations

Bring a note pad or be prepared to take notes

so that you can compare their offerings, prices, and perks.

Don’t forget to ask about “hidden fees”; services charges, tax, set-up fees, etc.

Fourth:

Complete your analysis of the three and select your top choice.

Call for an  appointment to book your venue.

NOTE: Do not guarantee your full guest count.

Guarantee no more than 80% or your projected guest count,

but be prepared to fund the entire guest count, just in case.

If only 80% of your guests RSVP yes, use the 20% reserve on your honeymoon.
